Food and Agriculture
The Food and and Agriculture Life Cycle Assessment (FALCA) Working Group based in the Kendall Lab of University of California Davis (UCD) Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) is dedicated to fostering collaboration among researchers, students, industry stakeholders, and policymakers to advance study into sustainable agricultural practices, improved food security, and enhanced environmental stewardship through a comprehensive life cycle modeling approach. The mission of FALCA is to develop novel approaches and tools to support and enhance life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle impact assessment (LCIA), to conduct LCA and LCIA for agricultural and food systems at various scales, and to provide comprehensive, process-based modeling tools and environmental performance data to consumers, farmers, policymakers, and other industry stakeholders.
